Quilting in Progress

At home in front of the quilting machine

A little about me:

Born and raised in Hawaii, I have a love of color. My passion began in 2012 with the purchase of my first machine for $30 at Walmart. I made my infant son a little crooked quilt for his room and realized that I LOVE quilting. After a year or two of quilting I realized I couldn’t quite find the right pattern. So I started designing my own quilt patterns. It gave me such a thrill to see the quilt come together. Then one day a friend told me about quilt shows. What?? You can compete your quilts? How awesome. So I did some research and entered my first quilt show. It was the 2016 Black, White, and one other challenge from Quilt Expo. I was so shocked and pleased to get into the show. It really inspired me to compete and push my quilting.

My quilts are very much inspired by my experiences and a love of color my mother encouraged in me. Being a Navy wife, I was given the experiences of a lifetime. I went to live in new places, experienced new cultures, and visited many different countries. All this has influenced my quilting. The bright colors and stark lines is my signature look.
